What is cellulite?

Dimples in cheeks are cute, dimples in those cheeks—not so cute. Whether thick or thin, young or not-so-young, cellulite impacts more than eighty percent of women with its orange peel skin dimpling and telltale cottage cheese lumps. As people age, the muscle’s connective fibers decrease and get thicker causing fat to cluster and form a bumpy appearance. Although proper nutrition and regular activity is encouraged is beneficial, they don’t diminish the lumpy texture that marks the presence of cellulite. Creams and lotions may momentarily hide the condition but they do not actively target cellulite because the dimpling effect on the skin is a byproduct of cellulite, not the reason for it.
